Clicker Training

There is a method of training called "Positive Reinforcement" and "Clicker Training". A lot of the "TOP" Border Collies, or some that I have been looking at that have really good tricks, are trained by this. So I began to research these clickers. I then discussed it with Mom, and decided to get one. The are relatively cheap and cost a couple of dollars. I just went to the local PetSmart and picked on up there. Clicker training is a way to say "good dog" without using your voice and a way to tell them you are doing the right thing. To start this, the clicker is made to make noise and the animale (horse, dog, guinea pig, or cat, ect.) is given a treat till it is understood that a click means reward. This is then added in to training. Positive Reinforcement is also often used. Which is something I should probably learn more about though I know some of the basics.

Okay! Now I can tell about some of the adventures Elsie has been having!

PetSmart

So I took Elsie into PetSmart. Which is a good experience for her. She got to see new people and even meet a new dog. She barked a couple of times... I tried on a harness on Elsie and we decided to get one. Basically, Elsie has choking herself when I walk her on just a collar and lead. Hopefully, this harness will change a little bit of that. I got her a pink one that somewhat goes with her collar in color.

Left in the Car ONLY!

I left Elsie in the car while we made a trip to a clothes store. She did very well. She has not really been barking in the kennel as of lately. Which is good.

This Saturday, LORD willing, we will take her to a CAP event, with lots of people! YAY!

I bought her a pink toy animal. :)
